  2. Apple Cider Vinegar – 2 cups…purchase HERE
  3. Warm Water – 1/2 gallon
  4. Lavender Essential Oil – 5 to 10 drops…purchase HERE

Epsom Salt

Epsom salts are a great way for your body to absorb well needed magnesium that is depleted through many possible factors such as stress and anxiety. Epsom salts are also considered heart healthy because it can lower inflammation and improve circulation. This is a great option to help lower your blood pressure.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (best if you use raw, organic, unfiltered and unpasturized) is an added ingredient that is helpful if you have foot odor, as the ACV will dry out the feet and get rid of the unpleasant odor. It is also helpful for corn and calluses (painful, hard, thick skin) on the feet, sore and tired feet or if you have any kind of fungal infection in the toes or athlete’s foot.

Lavender Essential Oil

The lavender essential oil will promote calmness and relaxation.

Sit Back and Relax

Make it a point to detox your feet as often as once a day. At the end of a long day, place a bucket filled with the detox ingredients infront of the tv and watch your favorite 30 minute show or take that time to read…Hay, maybe even meditate 🙂

You will start to feel the benefits from this foot soak in 10 minutes but it is best to soak for at least 20 minutes daily.

Check with your doctor first if you suffer from seizures or wear a pacemaker. And don’t forget to stay hydrated with water during and after your detox.

Are you interested in a full body detox??? Look HERE for more information on that!

I hope this post finds you happy and healthy 🙂

    Hello Rachel, awesome article.

I have always heard about releasing toxins through your feet but didn’t actually think it worked. I just thought it was a myth used by big pharma companies who try to get more money out of people with their un-needed products. And by the looks of it, I don’t need their products especially when there is an easier way that you have shown us.

Thank you so much for this helpful post!

Oh, I love a detoxing foot bath at the end of the day. I stand up and walk about for most of my working day so this sounds like pure bliss, and I will definitely try it 🙂

    All the best, Cat

Interesting article, Rachel. My wife and I are extremely active and have fitness and nutrition dialled in, but it’s great to learn about other mechanisms to enrich health.

I have heard about toxins being released through the feet (and something about an old-world remedy involving feet and an onion? 😉 ). I guess men can have footpaths too, hey? :).

Looking forward to setting up a soak for my wife and maybe sneaking my feet in there also. Great tip about absorbing magnesium from Epsom salts – we could very well be deficient given our training demands.

I look forward to reading more from you. Keep the tips coming!
