So naturally, after much research (and before you jump in the car and race to your nearest pharacist) I think it is important for you to know exactly what apple cider vinegar can do for you…your health, your hair and your home.

How To Consume Apple Cider Vinegar

First of all, make sure not to consume too much as too much of anything is not a good thing and could do more harm than good. That being said, most pleople prefer to dilute 1-2 teaspoons to 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in water per day. No more then 2 tablespoons (30 ml) per day.  And as always, it would be smart to check with your doctor to make sure apple cider vinegar is safe for you.

One of my very favorite forms of exercise is walking. There are countless reasons why walking for your health is so beneficial. I am happy to name 14 reasons why you should start walking now.

Walking does a body good

  1. Well for starters as everyone already knows walking is an excellent form of exercise. Walking can prevent or manage cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis.
  2. It does wonders for your waistline
  3. Helps improve your balance and coordination
  4. The more you walk the stronger your bones become because walking can help maintain healthy cartilage.
  5. Walking will help ward off dementia because it helps improve cerebral blood flow
  6. Walking at least seven hours per week can reduce the risk of developing breast cancer and colon cancer.feet walking
  7. Walk yourself into a good mood! A fast paced walk can boost your mood and help with depression.
  8. Walking lowers your risk of having a stroke because it lowers high blood pressure.
  9. Walking keeps your cholesterol in check.

Set yourself up for success

Make a realistic goal for yourself. Figure out which days you have the most time in your schedule to walk for your health. What time during the day works best for you? Is there a neighborhood you have driven past but have yet to venture in? Take a walk there. Just breathing in the fresh air, noticing the different landscapes basically getting your mind of off everything but you “right here, right now” will have you falling in love with this new ritual of yours. Walking is a must for me. I enjoy a change of scenery every now and then. I have a few neighborhoods I love to walk in. I am also blessed with living near the beach. woman walking on the beachSmelling the salt air, listening to the fog horns and watching the waves roll in while walking has become one of my favorite ways to destress and feel healthy.

If you should miss a day or two of your weekly goals, don’t get down on yourself. Remind yourself how good it makes you feel and how amazing it is for your health, body and soul.

Important to remember

  • Don’t forget to choose something comfortable to wear both on your body and your feet. Wear *clothes that absorb sweat and are *comfortably stretchy. Wear shoes with proper arch support and thick flexible soles to absorb shock. *Make sure to wear a high visibility reflective vest when walking in the dark .
  • Do a light body stretch before and after your walk to prevent injury.
  • Bring water to stay hydrated. Don’t forget to drink it! *These are great water bottles to have on hand. Not to mention, if you switch hands that you carry the water bottle in every so often while walking it can act as a hand weight!
  • Let someone know where you will be taking your walk for your own safety.
